Paul J. Bloomberg, M.M.

Paul Bloomberg brings extensive experience to his work at TIDES as a former principal, a mathematics and literacy coach, a principal coach and central office mathematics resource teacher.  In addition to his work with TIDES, Paul is a Professional Development Associate for the Leadership and Learning Center founded by Dr. Douglas Reeves. 

Furthermore, he consults with Literacy Support Systems in New York, focusing on school reform efforts around writing.

 

Paul has had great success in helping schools and teachers build structures, develop instructional strategies and support leadership practices that support all children in an effort to eliminate the achievement gap. He has a track record of increasing student achievement in schools with high percentages of English learners and students from low socio-economic backgrounds.  His expertise in on-the-spot coaching, content coaching and grade level coaching, supported positive change across the many schools he has had the opportunity to work with.


Paul has a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Central Michigan University and a Master’s of Music Performance from the University of Colorado at Boulder.  He has also studied at the Vienna Conservatory of Music and has performed at festivals and venues nationally and internationally. He shifted back to education as he realized his true passion was teaching, learning and social justice.  Currently, Paul is working on his doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of California, San Diego.
